Here in England, Rhodes Tailors are still hand cutting bespoke suits. On this clip we wanted to give you a snapshot of what happens to your fabric when it reaches us
Most of our suits are cut from individual card patterns and by using this method and adjusting your pattern accordingly it enables us to not just get your first suit right, but also future orders. On average our clients order a couple of suits a year, so it's worth the effort on our part.
You can see the pattern, the adjustments being made by hand are using tailors chalk and finally the shears being introduced to the fabric to get your order underway.
In the 1950s when the first Rhodes suits was cut, Leeds, not London or Kowloon, produced more made to measure suits than any other city.
With the unfair subsidised competition from abroad, only a few English tailors still remain, these are the best. Our advice is buy British, it's worth it.
